Guest
How I got to play today was a different route from the way most guitar teachers teach guitar. Most guitarists start out with an inexpensive acoustic guitar and immediately try to play songs with chords.

The next area of string buzzing is along the neck. Do your strings buzz when you play the first parter guitar few frets? This could mean that your guitar frets need to be dressed or your neck isn’t straight. Look down the side of your fretboard. If the fretboard isn’t straight, you may need to adjust the truss rod to remove the backbow or relief in the neck. Adjusting guitar truss rods is probably the most common electric guitar repair that I see in my shop. It is important to research how to tighten your truss rod before you try it or just take your guitar to the shop to have it tuned up.

C) An extensive library of chord charts and sheet music so he does not use up valuable lesson time having to write down lesson materials while you are waiting to be taught.

Some acoustic guitars only have one strap button located at the bottom of the guitar body. In this situation you will need to attached the top end of the guitar strap to the neck of the guitar. The top end of the strap is the end opposite of the adjustment holes or slide. You can simply attach the strap using some quality leather strings that came with your strap. To tie the strap to the guitar neck, loop it securely through the buttonhole of the strap, then pass it under the strings above the nut (located at the top of the fretboard) and below the head making sure the leather string is not touching any of the guitar strings as this will cause problems with the sound and tuning of the guitar.

The local shop will also carry used instruments, which is a great way to get a better guitar for less money. Stores usually take these instruments on trade, and inspect them very carefully. An acoustic guitar that sells new for $300, might sell used for $175-200 and look brand new. My preference is to always buy used if I can.

If you feel like the guitar is getting in the way of the vocal, a simple trick is a wide cut around 3-5 kHz. This can clear up that area in order for the vocal to shine through in a busy mix.
